Transmission overheating

Possible cause Check Solution/Remedy
Too much or lack of oil Check oil level Add or drain  transmission oil as per manufacturer instructions
Heat sensor or temperature gauge not in order Check temperature with laser gauge  
Oil cooler Air passages free – oil cooler clean Clean oil cooler
  Check electric circuit of oil cooler fan  
Transmission slipping Is the oil black with strong odor Transmission should be dismantled and sent to workshop

 

Machine not travelling

Possible cause Check Solution/Remedy
Lack of oil Check oil level Add transmission oil as per manufacturer instructions
Idling engine revolutions too high Check as per manufacturer instructions Have engine idling revolutions adjusted by authorized mechanic
Malfunction of electric system Check electric wiring Clean and tighten connections
  Check all electric connections  
Parking brake applied Electric system  

 

Machine not pulling 

Possible cause Check Solution/Remedy
Lack of oil Check oil level Add transmission oil as per manufacturer instructions
Engine not functioning properly Fuel system, air filter clogged, turbo, etc. Have engine checked by authorized mechanic

 

Transmission brake (retarder) weak

Possible cause Check Solution/Remedy
Lack of oil Check oil level Add transmission oil as per manufacturer instructions
Accumulator Short circuit in electric or air system Repair, should be done by authorized mechanic

 

Noises in transmission

Possible cause Check Solution/Remedy
Lack of oil Check oil level Add transmission oil as per manufacturer instructions
Speed sensors Are the speed sensor connected to the electric system Clean sensor contacts and connections to the system

 

Sequence of actions -Checking oil level:

1.Start the machine engine and engage neutral gear – N.

2.Check oil level on the dipstick, hot or cold oil, generally imprinted on dipstick.

3.Add or drain oil as indicated. Use only transmission oil approved by manufacturer.

4.Check again oil level.
